Fees, and how payment works

Our fees are set out on this page, along with what the fee depends on, at what point in the process you are told yours, and how payment works — so that nothing about the money is a surprise.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, this page is not the right place — here is what to do.

What a session costs

There is one fee for your session or your assessment, and you are told it before you pay. It is not one number for everybody — it depends on who you see and on what you are booking — so what is published here are the bands, and your own fee is confirmed to you before anything is paid.

A session with Prof. Dr. Tahira Yousaf is PKR 15,000.

A session with one of our other psychologists is PKR 5,000 to PKR 8,000. Where it sits in that range depends on the psychologist's experience.

A psychological assessment is PKR 50,000 to PKR 180,000, depending on how many tests are needed and which ones. An assessment is a different piece of work from a therapy session — a consultation, then testing, then scoring, interpretation and a written report — which is why it is priced on its own.

The consultation fee is separate, and is not included in the assessment fee. What the assessment fee does cover is all of the assessment sessions, the report, and a feedback session with Prof. Dr. Tahira Yousaf once you have received it.

The assessment fee can be paid in two instalments — half before the assessment begins, and the rest when it is complete. If that still does not work, a more flexible arrangement can be discussed with Prof. Dr. Tahira Yousaf.

What is true for everybody is set out below.

What the fee depends on

Three things.

Which psychologist you see. Fees vary by psychologist. Experience on our team ranges from 3 to 24 years, and the person you are matched with is chosen by speciality and by what you have come in with — not by price, and not by who happens to be free.

What you are booking. A therapy session and a psychological assessment are different pieces of clinical work and are priced differently. So is the Hypno-yoga programme, which runs as a group.

How long it runs. A standard session is 50 minutes. If it runs beyond that and your psychologist has the time, you can extend by an hour at an extra fee — you are told what that is before it happens. Minor overruns of one to five minutes are not charged.

Assessments: ask again after the first session

Every assessment at PHC begins with an initial session that works out which tests are clinically warranted. You will not be given tests you do not need, and that is the point of doing it in that order.

It also means the tests are chosen in that session rather than before it. So ask at that point what the rest of the assessment will cost. You will have the answer before anything further is booked or paid for.

When you are told the fee

Before you pay. Always, and without exception.

The sequence is the same for everyone. You send us six details. We come back to you with a psychologist, a time and a fee. You decide. Nothing is charged until you have said yes to all three.

If the fee is not what you expected, say so at that point. That is the moment it costs you nothing to walk away, and we would far rather you asked than quietly went elsewhere.

How payment works

A booking payment holds your slot. It is half the session fee, and it is paid at least 24 hours before the appointment. The slot is not held until it has been received.

What we accept. Cash or bank transfer, for both the booking payment and the rest of the fee.

The rest is paid after the session, in cash or by bank transfer.

If you are paying from outside Pakistan, say so when you enquire and payment is arranged by bank transfer.

If you need to cancel or move an appointment

Tell us as early as you can, by phone on +92 333 3736938 or on WhatsApp. The earlier we know, the more likely it is that the time can be offered to somebody else and a new one found for you.

If you cancel or move the appointment less than 24 hours before it, the booking payment is not refunded.

If your psychologist is the one who moves it, the booking payment is refunded if you ask for it, or it carries over to your next session — whichever you prefer.

If the cost is the thing stopping you

Say so when you get in touch, before you book anything.

We will tell you the fee before you pay, and you are free to decide then. If what you need is something we cannot offer within what you can manage, we will say so plainly and point you somewhere else — the same answer we give when what you need is outside our scope. It is not a wasted conversation either way.

Questions about fees and payment

Why is the fee a range rather than one number?

Because one number would be wrong for most readers. The fee depends on which psychologist you see and on whether you are booking a therapy session, an assessment or a group programme. You are told your fee before you pay anything, so nobody is ever asked to commit to a figure they have not heard.

When exactly am I told the fee?

When we come back to you after your enquiry, together with the psychologist and the appointment time. You agree to all three or to none of them. Nothing is charged before that point.

Is the fee the same for every psychologist?

No. Fees vary by psychologist and by service type. You are matched by speciality and by what you have come in with, and the fee for that psychologist is quoted to you before you pay.

Do I pay before or after the session?

Half before, half after. A booking payment of half the session fee is paid at least 24 hours before the appointment, in cash or by bank transfer, and that is what holds the slot. The rest is paid after the session.

Does an assessment cost the same as a therapy session?

No. They are different pieces of work and are priced differently. An assessment begins with an initial session that decides which tests are clinically warranted, so ask at that session what the rest of the assessment will cost.

Book an appointment

Message us on WhatsApp, call +92 333 3736938, or use the booking page, where the six details we need and the full step-by-step are set out.

PHC is appointment-only and walk-ins are not accommodated at either clinic. For anything not answered here — payment methods, international clients, switching psychologist — see the questions page.

Not sure if this is us? Ask. We will tell you directly whether we can help, and refer you elsewhere if we cannot.

Everything on this page is general information about our services. It is not a diagnosis, not treatment, and reading it does not create a clinician–client relationship.

Speaking to someone starts here

PHC is appointment-only. Message or call and a real person answers — Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm PKT.

Not sure whether this is us? Contact us anyway. We will tell you directly whether we can help, and refer you elsewhere if we cannot.

Six details, and we can match you

  • Name of the person who will attend
  • Their age
  • What is going on, in your own words
  • Whether you would prefer a male or female psychologist
  • Online, or in clinic in Karachi
  • Whether the person attending is a minor or elderly

If someone else is paying, we will also ask for guardian or payer details. A slot is held once the booking payment is received — half the fee, at least 24 hours ahead.
